Hey sports fans, Ryan O'Bryan here with the latest scoop from the world of football! 🏈
Former NFL star Keyshawn Johnson has filed a lawsuit against NFL agent Chris Ellison, claiming he is owed nearly $1 million for helping funnel clients to Ellison. According to the lawsuit, Johnson and Ellison struck a deal about a decade ago where Johnson agreed to push players to be represented by Ellison in exchange for a portion of the NFL contracts the athletes received. Johnson was supposed to get one-third of the three percent commission Ellison made on the players' salaries.
However, Johnson alleges that Ellison has stiffed him on four players he recruited: 49ers CB Deommodore Lenoir, Bears CB Jaylon Johnson, Falcons CB Mike Hughes, and Packers WR Romeo Doubs. Johnson claims Ellison owes him $962,335 based on their agreement, but Ellison has yet to pay up. Ellison, on the other hand, denies all the claims made by Johnson.
Keyshawn Johnson, who played in the NFL from 1996 to 2006, has become a prominent media personality in retirement and continues to mentor high school and college football players. This lawsuit adds another chapter to his post-NFL career.
