Gleaning For The World will be set up at Sam's Club at 3912 Wards Rd in Lynchburg on Friday, Feb. 21 from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. to collect disaster relief supply donations to help those affected by recent flooding in Southwest Virginia and Eastern Kentucky.

Those areas have been inundated with a series of back-to-back winter storms, leading to widespread flooding.

GFTW will be accepting donations of non-perishable food, diapers, cleaning supplies, personal care items, and pet food.

They are also making plans additional collections next week.

"Knowing that many of these same communities are still trying to recover from natural disasters in 2024 and are now facing snowstorms, reinforces the importance of those of us who can help to do all that we can for these families and individuals," Gleaning’s president Jeane Smiley-Mason said.

Check out the list of needed supplies below.
