From our media partner, ABC 13 - WSET and Meteorologist Thomas Battle:

Whatever is left of the moisture from Helene will move our way on Friday, which means we could see quite a lot of rain.

We're planning for 1-3" of rainfall across the region with some spots possibly getting even more.

Some wind gusts upwards of 30-40 mph could knock down trees, so power outages are a possibility.

Flooding is the primary concern for our area.

Remember: If you find high water covering roadways, find an alternate route.

Meanwhile, Severe thunderstorms that rolled through much of Appalachian Power’s service territory on Wednesday night left more than 10,000 customers without power.

Outage numbers are expected to rise throughout the day Thursday as heavy rain and strong winds are forecast for most of the day and into Friday.

APCO crews are currently assessing damage and working to restore power where it is safe, AEP said.
