The 2022 Central Virginia St. Jude Home Giveaway winner got the chance to see her new home over the weekend.

Lynn Skinner won the home on Wednesday, August 24 and was happy to get in and look around her new home.

Skinner is from Holly Springs, NC, but her parents live in the Lynchburg area.

They were watching the drawing live on ABC 13 - WSET when they heard their daughter's name called as the winner of the three bedroom, 2500-square foot home valued at $500,000.

The parents called Skinner to tell her she had won the home which was built by Custom Structures in the Trent's Landing neighborhood off Waterlick Rd. in Campbell County.

It was such a surprise that she didn't believe it at first.

"You know, it's disbelief," Skinner said. "Who would ever think that you would win something like that?"

Skinner said that she absolutely loved what she saw.

"It's amazing," she said. "I never thought I would own a house again. And, I'm just blown away."

She said her family makes supporting St. Jude so easy.

This year's Central Virginia Dream Home Giveaway raised $1 million for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital to help in their mission to understand, treat, and defeat childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
