ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. (WSET) — A brush fire broke out in Roanoke County Tuesday afternoon.
Roanoke County Fire and Rescue said smoke was reported near power lines on the mountain in the Fort Lewis area off the 2500 block of Wildwood Road.
Crews arriving at the scene around 2 p.m. found a roughly 2 acre brush fire beneath the power lines that has since spread to around 5 acres as of 5 p.m.
The fire is about 10% contained and is being described as slow-moving, having died down since it was first reported, according to Roanoke County Fire and Rescue.
No injuries have been reported and the fire has not threatened any structures.
