Update:
Snow continued to impact motorists across Virginia all day and into the night Sunday.
By 8 p.m., Virginia State Police troopers responded to more than 480 traffic crashes and more than 480 disabled vehicles.

By 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Virginia State Police troopers have responded to nearly 370 traffic crashes and more than 280 disabled vehicles.
At 1:40 p.m. VSP narrowly escaped injury in Goochland County.
A trooper was traveling east on I-64 when a vehicle tried to pass. The vehicle lost control and struck the trooper's patrol car at the 150-mile marker.
Officials say no injuries were reported.

ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. (WSET) — By 12:45 on Sunday afternoon, Virginia State Police had responded to nearly 150 crashes and more than 160 disabled vehicles.
Wintry weather led to hazardous driving conditions Sunday.
The snow moved in mid-morning but is expected to switch over to freezing rain, making travel conditions further treacherous.
Troopers responded to 142 crashes and 162 disabled vehicles from midnight to 12:45.
Thankfully, there have been no reported traffic fatalities.
VSP responded to a multi-vehicle backup on I-81 in Roanoke County around noon. A tractor-trailer jackknifed and the cab became disconnected from the trailer.
The incident happened in the northbound lanes at the 134-mile marker.
