Flood Risk, Isolated Tornado Chances Increase As Ida Approaches

From our media partner, ABC 13 - WSET:

Tuesday, clouds build along with rain chances as Ida's outer bands enter Virginia.

Tuesday evening, a round or two of thunderstorms are possible. Some of them will be on the stronger side.

Wednesday, rain chances increase and so does the flood potential. A wet morning commute is likely.

Rain totals will be 1" to 3" for most areas, but the further northwest you are, the better chance there is to exceed 3" in totals.

With tropical systems, in general, rotation increases the risk for an isolated tornado.

It's not a guarantee with Ida as the storm is weakening as it heads towards Virginia, but it is possible.

Stay weather aware Wednesday through the day.
