Tornado Watch Issued for Our Listening Area

As the remnants of Tropical Storm Fred move into Virginia, the National Weather Service - Blacksburg has issued a Tornado Watch for Carroll, Floyd, Franklin, Grayson, Henry, Montgomery, Patrick, Pulaski, Smyth and Wythe Counties, as well as the cities of Galax, Martinsville and Radford, effective until 7 p.m.

Meanwhile, a Flash Flood Watch is in effect for Bland, Carroll, Floyd, Grayson, Patrick, Smyth, Tazewell and Wythe Counties, including the cities and towns of Wytheville, Floyd, Marion, Galax, Bland and Troutdale.

The Flash Flood Watch is in effect through Wednesday.

Tropical rain continues Tuesday and Wednesday. The heaviest rain will be overhead Wednesday 2 a.m. through 12 p.m.
