Snow, Sleet and Freezing Rain to Begin Thursday Evening

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) — Winter weather advisories have been issued for 7 p.m. Thursday to 12 p.m. Friday.

This is ahead of a mix of snow, freezing rain and sleet heading into the area beginning Thursday evening. Rain is likely beforehand but not changing over to winter weather until the evening.

Snow totals will be underwhelming as a lot will melt upon the impact of the ground. Zero to two inches of snow is possible in Lynchburg, Roanoke and Bedford. Snow increases north of Lynchburg.

Ice increases toward New River Valley and mainly rain for Southside.

An icy build up on roads will make travel conditions slick for Thursday night and Friday morning.
