The National D-Day Memorial in Bedford will reopen to visitors on Wednesday, June 10, and will take additional precautions in light of the ongoing coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic.
“After three months of closure, we look forward to opening our gates and letting visitors in to enjoy our beautiful monument, the outdoor space, and our shared history of D-Day,” April Cheek-Messier, President of the National D-Day Memorial Foundation said.
The memorial site will be instituting several changes to eliminate the potential spread of COVID-19 including increased cleaning of frequently touched surfaces.
Ticket sales are being moved from the Bedford Area Welcome Center to the Memorial's on-site hospitality booth. Visitors are encouraged to purchase tickets online.
Since the Memorial is an outdoor site, masks will not be required, but visitors are asked to maintain social distancing guidelines.
