RICHMOND, Va. (WSET) -- The new numbers released by the Virginia Department of Health on Monday, May 25 show an increase of 1,483 cases from Sunday.
The VDH is reporting a total of 37,727 COVID-19 cases in the state; 35,890 are confirmed and 1,837 are probable.
The number of deaths reported is 1,208, an increase of 37 from Sunday.
The Virginia Hospital and Healthcare Association dashboard on Monday reports that there are 962 confirmed positive COVID-19 patients currently hospitalized in Virginia and 414 patients are hospitalized waiting for their test results. Of those numbers, 349 patients are in the ICU, and 182 patients are on a ventilator.
The VHHA reports that 5,145 COVID-19 patients have been hospitalized and discharged.
