Woman Arrested After 100 mph, 52-Mile Pursuit from NC to Rocky Mount, Va.

ROCKINGHAM Co., N.C. (WSET) -- Virginia State Police said they arrested a 25-year-old woman after a pursuit from North Carolina into Virginia.

Police said they were notified that units with the Rockingham County Sheriff's Office in North Carolina were pursuit of a 2015 Jeep Patriot headed north on Route 220 entering Virginia around 8:30 p.m. Sunday, May 17.

State Police said the vehicle was stopped at the intersection of Route 220 and Route 40 in Rocky Mount using a tire deflation device. The driver, identified as Heather Marie Ward, was taken into custody without incident.
