The Lynchburg Police Department is on the scene of a active shooting situation at an apartment complex in Lynchburg. The police department responded to the Birchwood Apartments on Langhorne Road around 5:30 p.m.
Police are asking for residents to avoid the area because it's an "extremely dangerous" situation.
