RICHMOND, Va. (WSET) -- The number of coronavirus cases in the Commonwealth continues to rise daily.
The Virginia Department of Health reports that there are 6,500 coronavirus cases statewide and 1,048 hospitalizations as of Wednesday, April 15. This is up 329 cases from the previous day.
According to the latest information from the VDH, there have been 195 coronavirus-related deaths. This includes a Central Virginia Health District resident, two deaths from the Alleghany Health District, and a Southside Health District resident.
On Tuesday, an officer with the Lynchburg Police Department tested positive for COVID-19.
