VDH Update: Coronavirus Cases in Virginia Jump to Over 2,600 with 51 Deaths

RICHMOND, Va. (WSET) -- The number of coronavirus cases and the number of deaths from the coronavirus continues to rise in Virginia.

The Virginia Department of Health says that there are 2,637 total cases and 51 total deaths statewide as of Sunday, April 5.

On Saturday, there were 52 deaths reported by the VDH but Public Information Officer Robert Parker said one of the previously reported COVID-19 deaths that happened in a patient is not attributed to COVID-19.

23,671 people have been tested and there are 431 hospitalizations, the VDH says.
