The Lynchburg Humane Society has closed its Center for Pets to the public for the time being, but they're still caring for all the pets housed there. LHS is also looking for pet food and monetary donations as well as people willing to foster a pet.

"COVID-19 UPDATE:
In light of the COVID-19 situation and to protect our staff and the public, we are closing our Center to the public. We will continue to be busy caring for the pets that are at our Center and we are still asking for fosters. Please contact foster@lynchburghumane.org if you are able to foster.
We will also still be accepting donations of food and supplies and have set up an area outside our front door. Our need for food (cat and dog, canned and dry) continue to be one of our greatest needs. You can also monetarily donate online or via this Facebook post.
Thank you all for your support during this difficult time. We hope you and your loved ones stay safe throughout this situation. We will continue to keep you updated on the pets in our care, our fosters and our hard working staff.
