Bedford Sees First Confirmed Coronavirus Case, VDH says

BEDFORD, Va. (WSET) -- Coronavirus cases in Virginia continue to rise.

The Virginia Department of Health said there Is a confirmed coronavirus case in Bedford.

According to Dr. Kerry Gateley, the director of the Central Virginia and West Piedmont Health Districts, the patient is a woman in her 70s and she is self-isolating.

A Danville man in his 40s tested positive for the coronavirus marking the first confirmed case in Pittsylvania-Danville Health District. An Amherst County man in his 30s was confirmed to have tested positive Friday by the Virginia Department of Health.

Governor Ralph Northam gave an update on the coronavirus in Virginia on Sunday.
