UVA Cancels Final Exercises, Classes to Stay Online for Rest of Semester

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WSET) -- The University of Virginia announced that it will cancel Final Exercises in response to the coronavirus pandemic Tuesday, March 17.

According to the announcement, classes will move online for the rest of the semester, and all events, regardless of size, are canceled through May 15.

Ryan says Final Exercises have also been canceled for graduating students.

For students who do not have the technology needed to complete their classes online, they have been asked to visit the technology support fund page.

UVA President Jim Ryan says the decisions were made based on evidence that the virus will not have abated by late April.
