UVA Moving Classes Online Due to Coronavirus Concerns

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WSET) -- The University of Virginia is the latest school to announce they will be extending their spring break and moving classes online through at least April.

"Our approach is guided by three goals: (1) to protect the health of our students, faculty, staff, and Charlottesville neighbors; (2) to help slow the spread of the virus in Virginia and the nation; (3) to ensure the continuity of our teaching, research, and clinical care. All of those goals are advanced by reducing the number of people who are living and meeting on Grounds," UVA President James Ryan wrote in a message to students and the community on Wednesday, March 11.

President Ryan said classes will be moved online beginning Thursday, March 19.
