The U.S. Marshal's Office believes a wanted former Marine is "likely" in the New River Valley area.

The U.S. Marshal's Office said they believe Michael Brown, a former Marine wanted for killing his mother's boyfriend in Hardy on Saturday, November 9, is within the New River Valley area but the investigative team cannot point to a confirmed sighting to validate that Brown is in the New River Valley area.

The Franklin County Sheriff's Office says Michael Brown killed Rodney Brown on Saturday, November 9, and has been evading arrest ever since.

Michael Brown's car was found in South Carolina on Wednesday, November 13.

The attorney for Michael Brown is pleading for him to turn himself in.

Michael Brown's family is also pleading for him to turn himself in.

Warrants have uncovered new details about Michael Brown like the murder victim, Rodney Brown, was Michael Brown's father.

To date, approximately 250 tips and leads have been generated, the U.S. Marshal's Office said in a statement.

The U.S. Marshal's Office says that Brown should be considered armed and dangerous.

A $10,000 reward is still in place.
