Lil Xan Opens Up About Recent Relapse

Lil Xan is on the mend after a recent relapse.

In an interview with TMZ, the 23-year-old rapper, born Nicholas Diego Leanos, opened up about falling off the wagon, explaining that he chose to step out the public eye to seek help after relapsing on pain killers — specifically Xanax and hydrocodone.

Xan told the outlet that the relapsed led to him trying to quit drugs cold turkey, but his withdrawal was so bad — he suffered a number of seizures — he wound up having to be hospitalized. "I was in the hospital 'cause I went cold turkey because I didn't want to be on drugs no more," he shared. "The withdrawal actually gave me seizures. It was a wake up call. They said it was from going cold turkey off Xanax because I wanted to stop drugs completely. But I did it the wrong way."

He then explained why he chose not to reveal his relapse or the cause of his hospitalization, saying. "I tried to bullsh*t and just say I was sick, but I wasn't ready [to tell the world].

The "Baby You Love Me" rapper went on to say that he is "completely sober" now and is continuing to fight his addiction.

As fans know, the "Betrayed" rapper checked himself into rehab, seeking treatment for his issues with substance abuse, in December 2018. Xan's girlfriend at the time revealed the news on Instagram, writing. "Diego was just admitted into his first treatment. He loves each and every one of you sending good wishes and prayers to him. We thank you all so very much for all of the love and support you are sending his way. He will be back soon with another top 10 album."

Xan first admitted he suffered from addiction issues following Mac Miller's accidental drug overdose in September 2018.
