Downtown Lynchburg Small Business Saturday

Join us for Small Business Saturday, November 30 in Downtown Lynchburg. Shop at over 30 locally-owned businesses where you can find the perfect gift for the loved ones in your life AND support your local economy at the same time. It's a win/win!

What is Small Business Saturday?

Small Business Saturday, created by American Express, is a new shopping holiday that focuses on local spending. In contrast to Black Friday or Cyber Monday, Small Business Saturday encourages people across the country to support small, local businesses, helping to pump money back into their own local economies.

Why shop small?

When you support a local business, you’re also supporting your city. Business pay sales taxes to our city, which is in turn used to support public schools, parks, roads, and sidewalks, as well as fund public service workers, like firefighters. In addition, according to Civic Economics, “on average, 48% of each purchase at local independent businesses is recirculated locally, compared to less than 14% of purchases at chain stores.”

By choosing to shop downtown, you are helping to sustain important retail businesses that help to create a unique downtown experience for all who live, work, and visit downtown.
