Police: 28-year-old killed after hitting guardrail in Franklin County

Virginia State Police said a 28-year-old died following a crash in Franklin County on August 16, 2019.

Police have identified the victim as Timothy Ray Muterspaugh, II, and say he was traveling west on Route 636 around 10:15 p.m. when he ran off the right side of the road, hit a guardrail, and overturned.

Muterspaugh was wearing his seatbelt and died at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
