As the result of an ongoing investigation into multiple vehicle break-ins and subsequent larcenies from the vehicles between May 1 and June 1, 2019, the Christiansburg Police Department has charged Andrew James Salisbury, 32, of Christiansburg, with multiple counts of tampering with motor vehicles, as well as numerous counts of felony and misdemeanor larceny.
Specifically, Salisbury currently faces:
- ·Five counts of grand larceny (felony) in violation of Code of VA §18.2-95
- ·11 counts of petite larceny (misdemeanor) in violation of Code of VA §18.2-96
- ·14 counts of tampering with a motor vehicle (misdemeanor) in violation of Code of VA §18.2-147
- ·One count of possession of a schedule II drug (felony) in violation of Code of VA §18.2-250
- ·One count of driving on a suspended license (misdemeanor) in violation of Code of VA §46.2-301
In addition to the charges brought in Christiansburg, Salisbury faces one additional count of grand larceny and four additional counts of petite larceny stemming from offenses committed in the Town of Blacksburg.
Numerous items stolen from vehicles throughout the region were recovered during the course of this investigation. Detectives believe that, as of this date, some of the recovered property may not have been reported stolen.
