BREAKING: Active Shooter Outside Chicago - "Multiple Casualties"

UPDATE: 6:45PM Aurora Police confirm 5 people were killed and 5 police officers were wounded in the shooting according to Aurora Police Chief Kristen Ziman.

2 of the officers were airlifted from the scene.

The shooter is identified at Gary Martin, 45,

Authorities in Aurora, Illinois are responding an active shooter at an industrial building about 40-miles from Chicago. The shooting occurred at the Henry Pratt Company, reports at last four police officers and multiple civilians were injured.

Two nearby hospitals have confirmed that they are receiving patients from the shooting. It has been confirmed that 4 police officers were shot, but that they are all listed in stable condition. It has still not been reported how many others were shot or the extent of their injuries.

The suspect has been taken into custody, but the area remains on lockdown as the FBI, ATF and local law enforcement agencies continue to investigate.

A person who escaped through a backdoor said the shooter was a coworker and stormed into the building armed with a pistol equipped with a laser sight.
