Father Posts PSA After Finding Mold In Capri Sun

After Cameron Hardwick's three-year old asked for juice one dinner, he pulled out a Capri Sun to give to her.  He and his wife noticed that something was wrong with one of the packets. It felt emptier than the others and after carefully checking to see if it had any holes, they cut into it and poured it in a glass.

As you can see in the photos below, there was a large chunk of mold in this pouch. Another picture clearly shows that the drink is good through July 2019.

Kraft Foods reached out after his post went viral and sent a representative to pick up the pouch for testing.

"They came back with the results a few days later and said there was a 'micro-puncture' in the package allowing oxygen to enter the pouch and create the mold seen in the video and pictures," Hardwick said.

Their website acknowledges reports of mold in their pouches.

"It's a common, naturally occurring food mold. Although it's rare, it is possible for food mold to grow inside containers of preservative-free juice drinks if the pouch is compromised or punctured in any way on its journey from our facilities to your grocery stores."
