Teen Charged After Leaving Dog In Car At Busch Gardens

A 17-year-old is facing charges after she left his dog in her car in the parking lot of Busch Gardens and then assaulted an officer. 

Witnesses flagged down the police late in the afternoon on Monday where a young pit bull was locked in a car that was not running. The police opened the car. 

When the owner returned to the vehicle, he confronted the police. He then tried to walk away and an officer tried to arrest him. He turned around and struck the officer. The follow altercation led to both the suspect and officer being injured. 

He was charged with assaulting an law enforcement officer, possession of marijuana and animal cruelty. Animal control took custody of the dog.
