Man Accidentally Flies 3,000 Kilometers In The Wrong Direction

Filmmaker Christopher Paetkau was in for a surprise when he discovered that he'd taken a 3,000 kilometer detour in the Arctic when he boarded the wrong flight. Instead of going to Inuvik, he went to Iqaluit.

First off, how does someone manage to get on the wrong flight in this day in age. No matter how it happened, it did.

Luckily, Paetkau seemed to take it in stride and boarded another long flight to get to his intended destination.  He was even spotted joking with the airline on Twitter after the incident.

For those of you wondering where these places are, Inuvik is a town in the Northwest Territories of Canda with a population of just over 3,000.

Iqaluit  is the Canadian territory of Nunavut.  It's 567k  SE of Prince Charles Island.
