Police searching for missing hiker on the Appalachian Trail

March 23, 2018 - The Washington County Sheriff's Office is helping the U.S. Forest Service search for a hiker who may be missing.

They say Bryan Sederhenn was supposed to be on the Appalachian Trail near the Lost Mountain Shelter or the Saunders Shelter.

Officials say he sent out a text Thursday morning saying he was about a mile from the highway and was going to try to go to Marion to pick up a package.

The sheriff's office says they believe he was not prepared for this hike and possibly hasn't had anything to eat or drink in several days.

More on the story from ABC-13 WSET.
