RADFORD, Va. (WSET) — Thursday was a normal afternoon on Radford University's campus.
That's before a flock of birds, more than 50 in all, fell out of the sky.
Karen Powers, a biology professor at Radford University, says they found 55 dead birds in just an hour.
Two birds, while stunned, were alive and were immediately sent to the Southwest Virginia Wildlife Center in Roanoke.
Those birds are now recovering and the hope is that they'll be released back into the wild soon.
The theory is that the birds may have been poisoned by alcohol in fermenting wild berries.
