SALEM, Va. (WSET) — Two people were taken to area hospitals and a teen as been taken into custody after a shooting at the Salem Fair Wednesday night.
According to a spokesperson for the city of Salem, officers with the Salem Police Department heard shots fired on the Fairgrounds at 8:57 p.m.
Officers observed one person fleeing the scene with a gun and took him into custody after a chase.
Two people were found with injuries related to the shooting, police said.
One person was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries and the other with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.
Salem police said the person taken into custody is a boy under the age of 16.
