Beloved Mama Woodruff of Amherst County Pie Shop Dies at 104

AMHERST COUNTY, Va. (WSET) — Miss Mary Woodruff, the owner of a pie shop in Amherst County, died Tuesday at the age of 104.

Woodruff's Store: Café & Pie Shop announced Woodruff's passing on their Facebook page Wednesday morning.

"Mama gained her heavenly wings last night and is now with the Lord! Although she will be terribly missed, she would want us to go on," they wrote on the post.

Woodruff's Café and Pie Shop has been in business for decades in Amherst County.

Mama Woodruff opened the family business in 1952 as a grocery store. Then about 20 years ago she handed the store over to one of her four daughters, Angie Scott, who opened the pie shop in 1998.
