RICHMOND, Va. (WSET) — Governor Ralph Northam addressed the future of the state’s coronavirus restrictions as well as vaccination efforts Wednesday.
The ease on the COVID-19 guidelines include:
- Expand alcohol sales to midnight instead of 10 p.m.
- Modified stay-at-home order has been lifted
- All restaurants, dining establishments, food courts, breweries, microbreweries, distilleries, wineries, and tasting rooms still must be closed between midnight and 5 a.m.
- Restrictions on outdoor gatherings are now limited to 25 people, up from 10 but the limit of 10 remains for indoor gatherings
- Entertainment venues: 30% capacity, 250 people indoors and outdoor venues cap at 1000 persons
- Recreational sports: 30% capacity/25 spectators per field for indoors and outdoor sports has 30% capacity with 250 spectators per field
- Overnight summer camps: Open as of May 1
These will go into effect on March 1.
Meanwhile, Northam says more than 1.1 million Virginians have received at least the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, about 13.5% of the state's population.
