LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) — Winter weather is moving back into the area Thursday morning and it’s making a mess of things.
The messiest part of the day will be in the morning, but we’ll be dealing with the impacts throughout the day Thursday - and even into the coming days.
Most of us are getting something in the form of winter weather -- whether that is in the form of sleet, freezing rain or even snow will be determined by how thick the warm layer of air in the upper levels of the atmosphere is.
Depending on if it’s sleet or freezing rain could be the difference between widespread power outages and scattered outages. Right now, we expect the highest likelihood of power outages to fall on the Southside – where you’ll get more freezing rain.
Regardless, the roads will still be a mess – travel is discouraged Thursday afternoon.
