LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) — Winter Storm Warnings are in place ahead of an ice storm that is expected Thursday.
This will cause issues beginning early Thursday morning (midnight to 2 am). This storm will continue with snow and ice steadily until noon Thursday. Scattered freezing rain and snow possible until early Friday morning for some areas.
Ice totals will be above 0.50 inches for portions of Southside. Roanoke and Lynchburg will likely see between 0.25 inches to 0.50 inches on top of the snow. Isolated locations will see totals that exceed 0.60 inches which will cause major issues with power outages.
