LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) —Ice and snow will be widespread for the region on Wednesday starting off as snow in Lynchburg and Roanoke but changing to freezing rain by the late morning.
Southside will not see snow, only mixed precipitation.
Additionally, the Highlands will begin to see snow Wednesday morning and it will continue through much of the day!
Ice will be the largest impact from this system, accumulations of 0.25 inches is possible in spots. Locations that will see temperatures consistently below freezing will see more accumulations.
This has the potential to weigh down power lines and knockdown tree limbs.
