Over 100,000 Coronavirus Cases Reported in Virginia, 2,326 Total Deaths

RICHMOND, Va. (WSET) -- The Virginia Department of Health is reporting 100,086 cases of coronavirus on Sunday, August 9 across the state. Of those cases, 96,167 are confirmed and 3,919 are probable. There has been an increase of 897 cases from Saturday.

The number of deaths reported is 2,326, four new deaths reported since Saturday.

The Virginia Hospital and Healthcare Association dashboard on Sunday reports that there are 856 positive confirmed COVID-19 patients currently hospitalized in Virginia and 344 are hospitalized waiting for results. Of those numbers, 2660 are in the ICU and 146 patients are on a ventilator.

The VHHA reports that 12,923 patients have been hospitalized and discharged since the beginning of the pandemic.
