The Department of Motor Vehicles location in Bedford is closing and moving to a new location.
The center will close at 5:00 p.m. on . Thursday, August 22 and reopen on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at its new location at 1128 E. Lynchburg Salem Turnpike in Bedford Plaza.
The new location has more than twice the square footage as the current office, allowing for a larger lobby area and more seating for customers.
The new one will have 13 service windows –seven more than at the current location. Six of the service windows will have a camera for driver’s license transactions as opposed to two cameras at the current location.
