Bedford County authorities say two buildings caught on fire overnight after being hit by lightning.
A call came in around 5:15 a.m. about a shed on fire on Meadowcrest Lane in the Thaxton area. Fire crews have cleared the scene and no injuries were reported.
According to the Bedford County Sheriff's Office, lightning struck abarnon Pedestal Lane with that call coming in around 1:15 a.m.
Fire crews say the barn fire presented a big issue because it contained a lot of hay bales which caused the fire to spread. The fire is now out.
There were no animals in the barn and no one was hurt.
