The Midtown Parking Deck, located in Downtown Lynchburg, will be getting a colorful new facelift next month.

Downtown Lynchburg Association will be adding a brightly colored mural on the northeast corner of all four floors of the structure, viewable from 10th and Commerce Streets.

“The vision for this project is to bring more color and vibrancy to downtown, and to draw attention to the Midtown Parking Deck as a fantastic parking option for downtown visitors,” says Susan Brown, Program Director of Downtown Lynchburg Association.

Public art projects also attract visitation, ultimately driving more traffic into local businesses.

The project was designed by DLA staff and will be painted with the help of community volunteers. It is scheduled to be completed in March.

DLA is currently looking for community volunteers to help assist throughout the duration of this project beginning Tuesday, March 1, 2022.

Volunteers of various skill levels will be needed for setup, tear down, and painting these four designs on the exterior of the parking garage.
