Oxygen Tank Led to Roanoke Explosion Monday Night, Fire Officials Say

ROANOKE, Va. (WSET) — A fire and explosion that killed one person and injured another in Roanoke Monday night has been ruled accidental.

Fire crews were dispatched to the 2500 block of Larchwood Street Northeast around 6:45 Monday night. Heavy smoke and flames were billowing from the residence when firefighters arrived.

Roanoke Fire-EMS says the fire was the result of the victim smoking while on oxygen.
