Police Presence to Increase at Valley View Mall Following Shooting

ROANOKE, Va. (WSET) — Valley View Mall customers will notice an additional police presence this week and throughout the weekend following Saturday's shooting, according to Stacey Keating with CBL Properties.

Officials with the Roanoke Police Department (RPD) say officers were dispatched to the mall Saturday at about 6:37 p.m. regarding a report of shots fired inside the mall on the upper level.

RPD says several individuals were involved in a verbal altercation when one individual began shooting. One person was wounded. No arrests have been made.
