Lynchburg Resident and Former Tuskegee Airman Honored at Monument Terrace

LYNCHBURG, Va., (WSET) — A long-time Lynchburg resident and former Tuskegee Airman was honored at Monument Terrace on Christmas Day.

Alfred Farrar called Lynchburg his home for many years. He recently passed away, just days before his 100 birthday.

His son, Roy Farrar, among others, honored his life on Christmas Day. Roy accepted an American Flag in his honor along with other tributes.

"Even though he didn't quite make it to his 100th birthday on the 26th I am not going to begrudge him those 9 days. He worked hard through 2020 to last as long and famously as he did," said Roy.

Farrar was a true American hero that will be remembered for his service in a program that went down in history.
