One Person Injured in Shooting at Valley View Mall, Roanoke Police Confirm

ROANOKE, Va., (WSET) —Mall officials confirm there is a large police presence at the Valley View Mall in Roanoke.

Officials say police are investigating an incident that occurred on the property.

UPDATE at 8:25 pm from Roanoke Police Chief Sam Roman:

Roanoke Police received a call at 6:37 pm Saturday, Dec. 26 for shots fired at Valley View Mall. When police arrived, they found one victim who was taken to the hospital with what is believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

Police say an argument occurred between two groups and then shots were fired.

Roman says police are still systematically going through the mall, but they say there is no existing threat in the mall. Mall employees are being escorted out by police.

No arrests have been made.
