Reward Offered for Information About Shots Fired at Lynchburg Officers

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) -- A $2,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of suspects accused of shooting at Lynchburg Police officers in June during a protest.

Chief Ryan Zuidema said the protests at Miller Park on June 1 started peacefully, but people began to behave differently once it got dark.

At one point, Zuidema said a large group of people started gathering in the street and kept vehicles from being able to drive down the road. So, police blocked off some of the roads. Protesters then began to march toward the Lynchburg Public Library and police said they got multiple reports of shots being fired.

Two officers were patrolling the area of Park Avenue and Stuart Street around 10:42 p.m. June 1, when police said individual(s) fired multiple shots from an automatic weapons in their direction.
