VDH Reports 730 New Coronavirus Cases, 891 Total Deaths

RICHMOND, Va. (WSET) -- The new numbers released by the Virginia Department of Health Tuesday, May 12 show an increase of 730 cases from Monday.

The VDH is reporting a total of 25,800 COVID-19 cases in the state; 24,601 are confirmed and 1,199 are probable.

The number of deaths reported is 891, an increase of 41 from Monday.

The Virginia Hospital and Healthcare Association dashboard on Tuesday reports that there are 1,082 confirmed positive COVID-19 patients currently hospitalized in Virginia and 447 patients are hospitalized waiting for their test results.

Of those numbers, 364 patients are in the ICU, and 201 patients are on a ventilator.

The VHHA reports that 3,400 COVID-19 patients have been hospitalized and discharged.
