VDH Reports Over 19,000 Coronavirus Cases, 684 Total Deaths

RICHMOND, Va. (WSET) -- The Virginia Department of Health is reporting a total of 19,492 COVID-19 cases in the state; 18,640 are confirmed and 852 are probable as of Monday, May 4. That is an 821 jump in cases reported since Sunday.

The death toll has risen from 660 to 684, an increase of 24.

The Virginia Hospital and Healthcare Association dashboard on Monday reports that there are 985 confirmed positive COVID-19 patients currently hospitalized in Virginia and 478 patients are hospitalized waiting for their test results. Of those numbers, 348 patients are in the ICU, and 192 patients are on a ventilator.

The VHHA reports that 2,547 COVID-19 patients have been hospitalized and discharged.
