Virginia Now Has Over 9,600 Cases of Coronavirus, Death Toll at 324

RICHMOND, Va. (WSET) – Numbers released Tuesday, April 21 by the Virginia Department of Health show 640 new coronavirus cases reported in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 9,630.

The death toll has increased from 300 to 324.

The VDH says out of the 9,630 cases, 9,451 are confirmed and 179 are probable.

The Virginia Hospital and Healthcare Association dashboard on Tuesday shows there are 1,331 confirmed positive COVID-19 patients who are currently hospitalized and patients who are hospitalized with pending test results. They also report that 1,418 confirmed COVID-19 patients have been hospitalized and discharged.

  • Cases, hospitalizations, and fatalities at the locality level
  • Cases, hospitalizations, and fatalities by demographics at the district level
  • Ability to differentiate between confirmed and probable cases
  • Rates per 100,000 population
