Police are investigating a break-in at JoJo's Pizza in Lynchburg.

The Lynchburg Police Department said officers responded to the restaurant around 10:37 a.m. Sunday, August 4, 2019 for a report of a breaking and entering.

"We are sorry to inform that we will be closed all day today. Last night we we broken into, vandalized, and robbed," the restaurant wrote on Facebook. "We will be spending the rest of the day cleaning and putting our home back together and will reopen normal hours tomorrow the 5th."

Police said the suspect or suspects were able to get away with cash from the business.

They said the Pittsylvania County Sheriff's Office helped with the investigation with the use of a police K9.

"To whomever decided that robbing a small family business was a good idea: know that you may have taken our hard earned money, but you can’t take our passion for making great pizza," Jojo's wrote.

The breaking and entering is an ongoing investigation.

Jojo's wrote on Facebook that as a thank you to the community for their support, they are going to turn the situation positive. They are giving a free slice of pizza on Tuesday to anyone who writes a review on their Facebook page, website, yelp or any other media site about a good experience they have had.
